What to expect at your DEXA scan appointment

Our professional, friendly, and knowledgeable staff will guide you through each step of your DEXA scan appointment. First, we'll ask you a few preliminary questions about your lifestyle and any key body metrics you are especially interested in.  Then we will get an accurate weight in kilograms and height in centimeters so that our machine has the right parameters for the scan.  Your DEXA body composition scan will take between 6 and 12 minutes, during which you will lie face up and as motionless as possible.

Following the scan, we will review all of your body composition data with you in person, looking at total body bone density, muscle mass, visceral fat measurement, total percent bodyfat, and resting metabolic rate.  You'll be able to ask questions about your data as we go through the discussion.

After your appoitment, we will send you an electronic PDF to your email, and a reminder for when your next scan should take place to help optimize your health, fitness, and longevity.
